History
September 13th 2025 (Session 1):
- The island was discovered by a player who would be later known as "Miner". They planted firefly bushes to commemorate this discovery, but then they died after telling one of Fungaia's future leaders, "Whale" among others about the existence of these islands arguably spelling their doom, though the island's orthogonal position to spawn made it easily discoverable to anyone just boating in one direction.
- The island was re-discovered by two other players who would later be known as "Healer" and "Blacksmith". They both decided to officially settle on the island and began work turning it into a real civilization.
- A group of people calling themselves EXODUS arrived at the smaller island right next to this island
- "Miner" returned to the island and officially joined as a citizen of the nation.
- Two more players discovered the island. They would be known as "Farmer" and "Builder".
- It was decided that since the island nation was small, each citizen would be referred to by their profession (mainly as a sort of nickname).
- "Healer" and "Miner" set out on an expedition to get two sheep for the island.
- A trader from the nearby Mushroom Island civilization of EXODUS arrived at the island and requested a single Mooshroom cow for their civilization. "Blacksmith" gladly gave them one, and relations between the two nations became very positive. They also had a mutual agreement to not share the location of either of the mushroom islands due to their circumstances.
- "Healer" and "Miner" returned from their expedition with two sheep.
- It was decided that in honor of "Miner" who first discovered the island and the firefly bushes they planted, the nation would be called Firefly Island.
- "Healer" and "Farmer" died while fighting Drowned.
- A wandering traveler came by. They had nothing to offer, but Firefly nation offered them a free bowl of mushroom soup to go.
- "Healer" returned, and much later, "Farmer" also returned.
- "Blacksmith" died while fighting Phantoms.
- Then-leader of Fungaia, Player 633 aka "Senku" asked if 5 settlers could come live on the land. "Miner" accepted, which "Healer" disagreed with, "Miner" would come to regret this decision, as Senku's group numbered in the 20s.
- About 10 players joined the Island. "Farmer" and "Healer" mostly kept to themselves as "Miner" (renamed to "Tiff" to avoid confusion in the growing population), engaged in diplomatic relations and planning with Player 833 aka "Gavin".
September 13th 2025 (Session 1B):
- After logging back on, political disputes came about regarding the leadership of Fungaia, and how Firefly Island and Fungaia can coexist, if at all.
- Tiff visited EXODUS by happenstance on her way back from a diplomatic trip, and was offered to emigrate, if Fungaia's Colonization ended ruining up Firefly Island's original home.
- Tiff tracked down "Healer" and "Farmer", the remaining logged-on members of Firefly Island, and told them about this offer, which both took on, and dissolved Firefly nation in practicality, but not in spirit.
-"Healer", "Farmer" and "Miner/Tiff" now continue their original namesakes' jobs within EXODUS.
Economy
Firefly Nation was small and chill enough that they use the "Give People What They Need" economic model.
Government
All tasks required to keep Firefly Nation running were made aware by everyone, and each individual Class had full jurisdiction over the physical area that they used for their Class.
Foreign Affairs
There was no formal system of dealing with foreign affairs, but a general rule was that the island's location must always be kept secret.
Military
There was no formal system of military policy on Firefly Island.
Culture
Firefly bushes are to this day still scattered throughout the island as a symbol of how the nation was a comfortable haven for its inhabitants. When the Firefly Islanders joined with EXODUS, firefly bushes were spread around on the new island as well.
