List of changes in the CivLabs Plugin
This is a list of the vanilla mechanics changed in the CivLabs plugin. This list may not have every change, but should have most of the important ones.
Players
Hunger and Health
- Natural Regeneration is disabled. Healing can be done with bandages or blessed food, both crafted by a Healer
- Downed system: upon reaching 0 health due to PvP, players get put in a "downed" state. Healers can use a bandage to revive them, or if high enough level can pick up downed players and move them somewhere else. While downed, players cannot move. However, they can still use items (as of event 2).
- Hunger rate is greatly increased
- Idle hunger rate is around 1 half hunger bar every minute
- Walking increases this by 25%, sprinting 15×, and swimming 75×.[1][NEEDS IN-GAME VERIFICATION]
- Crafting costs hunger in addition to resources
- Eating a variety of foods gives better saturation than eating the same food[NEEDS IN-GAME VERIFICATION]
- Some food sources are changed:
- Dried Kelp has a 1/5 (?) chance to poison you when eaten
- Sweet Berry bushes have a chance to hurt you when picking the berries
- Crops have a chance to fail harvest, in which nothing is returned for breaking it. Higher levels of Farmer reduce the chance of failure. The chance of failing a harvest with Farmer level 0 is very high.
Crafting
- Blaze rods and Nether Wart are craftable by Healers using new recipes
- Smithing templates are craftable by Librarians via a new recipe
- Many recipes are now class-specific
- Tools and Armor (except wooden tools) can only be crafted by Blacksmiths
- Certain food items are only craftable by Farmers
- Most brick-type blocks and Redstone components are craftable only by Builders
- Maps and book-related blocks are only made by Librarians
Tools and Armor
- Armor is much more protective (as of event 2). Each piece of armor applies an additional buff to protection, similar to the protection enchant. Each piece has a multiplier and each tier has a multiplier. For example, as of event 2, boots have a multiplier of 0.05 and diamond has a multiplier of 1.5 [1.5x0.05=0.075] This means that diamond boots provide an additional bonus of 7.5% protection (protection 2 is 8%)
- Many types of ore are only able to be mined by Miners (Coal being the exception)
- Crossbows have increased projectile velocity
Communication/In-game Information
- Chat is local with a range of 32 blocks
- Every player is given a random number as their username upon joining the server
- Player names are color-coded according to their class
- There is no player locator bar
- Client-side coordinates are randomly scrambled, as to prevent coordination outside of the game
- Note that this may break mods like Distant Horizons
- The tab list doesn't show players
Misc
- Beds can only be assigned to one person, and have to be broken to be reassigned
The World
Generation
- Water sources are not infinite, they do not regenerate when adjacent to other water sources.
- Structures don't generate. This excludes many items from being obtainable and makes the End dimension inaccessible.
- Notably, Desert Wells and Monster Rooms are considered as Features, not Structures, and so do generate.
Mobs
- Mobs are much faster, take much less damage from players, and hit much harder (3x as much damage). Skeleton's damage is increased 1.5x.
- During the night, mobs can break blocks (unless those blocks are reinforced with iron or copper or are a brick-type block)
- Mobs can see much further, even being able to pathfind through walls in many cases.
- Some mobs and NPCs will not spawn (some in part to lack of structures) including Wither Skeletons, Villagers, Breezes, and Allays.
- Curing a Zombie Villager does not result in a Villager.
- Cows require hay bales to breed and drop 9x the loot
Long-Standing Bugs
(bugs that have existed for long enough that they are practically a feature)
- Items with IDs that vary by recipe (ex fireworks, dyed leather armor, banner shields, copying banners) aren't craftable through crafting tables in the plugin. This has to do with how the plugin restricts item IDs to certain classes, and would require a lot of effort to fix.
- This restriction does not apply to autocrafters.
The 4x and 10x damage is bs (it might be slightly amplified but surely not 10x)
zombie baby dealt 7hearts at full iron idk what the guy above is saying
