Class Basics
Classes are the most essential part of the Civlabs plugin, being the heart and soul of specialization in this server. This page quickly explains how they work.
What are classes?
Classes are the different roles in the plugin that can be leveled up. By leveling up these roles you can gain access to new crafting recipes, buffs, or mechanics.
The 7 main classes are:
Blacksmith, Builder, Farmer, Guardsmen, Healer, Librarian, and Miner.
What are the primary roles of each class?
-Blacksmiths are able to create more advanced tools and armor
-Builders are able to create mob-proof bases and redstone contraptions
-Farmers can reliably produce food and manage passive mobs
-Guardsmen have boosts to their combat abilities
-Healers are capable of making healing items and potions
-Librarians can create maps, books, and enchant items
-Miners are able to mine better ores
How do I check my Class?
Type /class, which will open an interface displaying your current class progression and XP.
How do I become a certain Class?
You can become a class by performing actions that grant XP in a given class. Upon reaching certain XP thresholds you level up, gaining access to new abilities.
Generally:
-Blacksmiths level by making tools and smelting ores
-Builders level by building and stone cutting
-Farmers level by tilling, planting, and breeding mobs
-Guardsmen level by killing mobs
-Healers level by making paper and healing items
-Librarians level by creating books and bookshelves
-Miners level by mining stone and ores
How do I switch classes?
Besides XP thresholds, classes also require that a certain percentage of your total XP match a given class. Basic multiclasssing is possible, though the percentage requirements become progressively stricter the higher you go, forcing just one role at higher levels. Because having lots of XP in a class can make it difficult to level another, it can often be faster to intentionally die, resetting all class levels to zero, and then level the desired class.
