The mooshroom plot

Due to Fortun's belief on a mooshroom monopoly, Mooshrooms were used as a tactic to attempt to instigate war. This failed due to the fact Fortun was attacked by the Crusaders and couldn't launch any wars of their own.

Precursor

The starters of this conflict were believed to be Fortun citizens with the belief that everyone should have Mooshrooms. This lead to multiple civilizations being gifted Mooshrooms without knowing if they would cause conflict if they were to use the Mooshrooms as some civilizations like Nautilus had already been gifted a mooshroom cow by Fortun.

History

Player_123 (also known as Archer) was a diplomat from Shallow Cove who came to Nautilus on a diplomatic mission and found out about the mooshroom plot after Nautilus had received a second mooshroom from an unknown player. Cautious of this Nautilus sent player_851 as a representative of Nautilus when they asked Player_123 to investigate this matter, thinking that Nautilus could potentially be dragged into a war.

The diplomats soon went to Sleepytown, being invited to a meeting there that Player_537 was hosting. Here, the diplomats discussed the Mooshroom plot and found two suspects, Player_220 and Player_239. Player_537 stated that previously, the player who brought the suspect mooshroom at Sleepytown had said they were from Fortun and disagreed on their policies. Civil conflict was brewing in the twin cities of Sleepytown and Riverhold at the time so the diplomats went down the river to ruins nearby, where they found Player_220 (also known as Frenchie). After spending a night with Player_220, the diplomats found him friendly but kept their suspicions about him, soon after they went to Fish inn.

In Fish inn, Player_123 inquired about the mooshroom plot as fish inn had a mooshroom in a boat underneath their inn. One of the members of Fish inn confirmed that Player_239 was the one who gifted the mooshroom to them. Fish inn then gifted the diplomats two gold swords and sent them through the recently developed Nether highways.

Back at Nautilus, gifts were shared and plans were conceived. The diplomats were sent with a letter to Fortun with the intentions that they didn't wish to have conflict and would be fine returning the mooshroom but the letter never made it to Fortun due to misleading maps.

Reactions

Many players did not know of this incident as the Crusades took place shortly after and overshadowed it, but it increased tensions in many nations that received Mooshrooms.
