History

Formation

Elpida formed on session 1 from people leaving the desert and finding 278's base, having traveled in the general direction of Kustlandia (At that point, "the peace platform"). It initially began as an effort simply not to end up back in the desert, as it was one of the only places with stable food and a bed at the time.

At the end of session 1, a massacre occurred in which a single zombie broke all the beds and killed the members. One member was permanently lost through this. Elpida's population dropped to four.

The Lumber coast Conflict

In session 5, many of their members played a large role in the conflict between Kustlandia and Lumber Coast. 533 was allowed on the trip to Lumber coast by 123, and overheard them discussing their plan to destroy it. They informed the wider world of Kustlandia's plans, bringing 123's plan to a halt and inadvertently kick-starting their fall from grace.

826 aided in spreading the information, appearing at meetings and negotiations to prevent Kustlandia from going to war.

Raids

In session 6 Elpida was raided by 261 acting under the orders of 123. Realizing this, 853, the only member online, successfully caught 261 in the act, resulting in their removal from Kustlandia.

In session 10, 123 appeared at Elpida's base, and 853 yet again defended against the raid.

Economy

Elpida's class proportion fluctuates a lot due to its small size meaning that frequent changes are necessary. Mostly, it is one person per class.

They have a large farm set up, and mountains that provide a lot of early-game iron. Trade is rarely engaged in.

While everyone contributes to gaining resources, 278 has contributed a great deal of Elpida's mineral wealth.

Government

Each citizen has the power to vote on every major decision, and most minor decisions are made by mutual agreement. Citizens themselves are able to act mostly independently, short of committing actions that would upset other nations.

Foreign affairs

Elpida has neutral-good relations with high-ranking members of every nation on the server. Due to its distance, it is yet to form any solid alliances as a nation.

Their main enemies are the group of players still obeying 123, who frequently raid this nation.

Military

Every citizen is given enough gear to make themselves fully capable of defending themselves. One player referred to the entire nation as a military. However, Elpida as a nation is reluctant to actually go to war, much like every other nation on the server.
