List of changes in the Civlabs Plugin

This is a list of the vanilla mechanics changed in the civlabs plugin. This list probably doesn't include every change, but should have most of the important ones.

Players

Hunger and Health

  • Natural Regeneration is disabled. Healing can be done with bandages or blessed food, both created by Healer
  • Hunger rate is greatly increased
  • Crafting costs hunger in addition to resources
  • Eating a variety of foods gives better saturation than eating the same food (new to trial 2?)
  • Some food sources are changed:
    • Dried Kelp has a chance to poison you when eaten
    • Sweet Berry bushes have a chance to hurt you when picking the berries
    • Crops have a chance to fail harvest, in which nothing is returned for breaking it. Higher levels of Farmer reduce the chance of failure.

Crafting

  • Blaze rods and Nether wart are craftable by Healers using new recipes
  • Smithing templates are craftable by Librarians by a new recipe
  • Rail crafting gives 64 instead of 16 rails when crafting (?)
  • Many recipes are now class-specific
    • Tools and Armor can only be crafted by Blacksmiths (except wooden tools)
    • Certain food items are craftable only by Farmers
    • Most types of Bricks and some other blocks are craftable only by Builders
    • Books are only made by Librarians (?)

Tools and Armor

  • Armor is much more protective (?)
  • Many types of ore are only able to be mined by Miners (coal is the exception)
  • There is no player locator bar

Misc

  • Chat is local with a range of about 30-5032 blocks
  • Beds can only be used by one person, and have to be broken to be reassigned. This means no community beds
  • Crossbows have increased projectile velocity

The World

Generation

  • Water sources are not infinite, they do not regenerate when adjacent to other water sources.
  • Structures don't generate. This excludes many items from being obtainable and makes the End dimension inaccessible.

Mobs

  • Mobs are much faster, tankier, and hit much harder
  • During the night, mobs can break blocks (unless those blocks are reinforced with iron or copper or are a brick-type block)
  • Mobs can see much further, even through walls in many cases.
  • Some mobs will not spawn (some in part to lack of structures), for example: wither skeleton, villagers, breezes, and allays. In particular, curing a zombie villager does not result in a villager.
  • There no wandering traders.
