Healer

Healer is one of seven classes available to choose from in the CivLabs plugin.

A healer's main role is to provide healing to other players, as only they can regenerate other players health bar, this can be achieved by crafting bandages, or by blessing food. They are also the only ones able to revive players that are 'downed' when killed by other players and are able to 'drag' downed players to safe places.

Unlocked Abilities

Bandages

When at level 1 (Apprentice) Healers can craft bandages. The recipe, as of Trial 1a, is 8 pieces of paper and a sugarcane as seen below. Healers can use bandages to fully heal other players by shift right-clicking them, or themselves by right-clicking.

Blessed Food

Beginning at level 2 (Journeyman), a healer can bless food by holding the food they want to bless and Shift Right-clicking. Blessing food takes away 8-9 hunger bars from the healer and gives the food positive effects. Higher level healers give better food blessings

Class Interactions

Healers are a very important class in general, due to their abilities being the only way to regenerate health in the experiment. However, 2 class pairings stand out -

Healers pair really well with Farmers, due to their reliance on sugarcane and food to make useful healing items. Farmers have a lower chance to fail harvests, making them much better at getting all the sugarcane and food needed for a healer to make things.

Healers also pair well with Guardsmen, as guardsmen need to get into fights to level up and may need frequent heals. This goes for wars too, as a healer can keep an army healthy and revive players that get downed in combat.

Later on, a healer can benefit from Blacksmiths, as getting a water bucket from a blacksmith can help in constructing sugarcane farms to speed up leveling.

Guide

Collection of tips and advice on how to play the class, including how to level it up efficiently. [Build on information from rest of page and try to avoid repeating.]

One of the first things that a healer needs to do is to get a supply of sugarcane, as making paper is the only way to begin leveling up. The larger a sugarcane farm, the better.

Notes

aIn Trial 0, the recipe for Bandages was 8 paper surrounding a tall flower of any variant. The current recipe was introduced, instead, for Trial 1.

Currently to reach level 1 for healers you need to collect 5 stacks of sugarcane to craft into 5 stacks of paper. If you craft paper while starving you do not get XP.
