History

Settled during the First day after a group of 13 left spawn and found grassland away from the tundra, forming the North Settlement of Skycity.

2 other groups had settled to the west and to the south. On the fourth night, the North Settlement's representative Player_724 convened with the west's representative Player_571, the Captain of the 'New Hill Fort' group who had first settled on the hill above the lake Skycity is built over, to officially form the loose order of Skycity. The Southern Settlement united together with Northern and Western Settlements afterwards, and was then subsequently abandoned due to constant attacks from mobs. As all of the settlers were huddled together in separate sky-bases to make it through the night, the now unified settlement was baptised "Skycity".

On night 6 the north settlement's blacksmith "placeholder" was killed by Player_907. A Kill On Sight order was then decreed, as punishment for these crimes.

As Day 1 session A was winding down, Skycity's population shot up to 26 players. When Day 1session B started, the population quickly exploded to around 35-40, later peaking at 45 before declining again due to food & tool shortages, and a host of other difficulties. This created many problems due to the new need of food, which forced 724 and 571 to call the first meeting of Skycity. This meeting formed ministers and directed new players to separated jobs. Ministers for all classes were created, with one head for each.

Even with their best efforts, Skycity didn't manage to reach food quota for its populace, leading to a Second meeting of Skycity, Initiated by 571 and latter joined by 724. Multiple suggestions to raid were publicly suggested, but were met with large opposition from the populace of Skycity. This meeting did lead to the construction of a large mob farm, both to deal with resource shortages, especially string, & to reduce mob spawning rates around the city at night.

The mob farm was constructed by 101 and later by 877 to get string for fishing rods in response to a growing food issue with the large influx of players.

Economy

Skycity has a rudimentary subsistence economy as of the end of session 1.

Government

In the beginning, the larger 'North' group appointed their 'leader' to be Participant_724, whilst Participant_571 was acclaimed the leader of the 'West' group by Participant_626 to lead them from the Tundra. However, despite leaders being in place, both groups were deliberative, decentralized and loosely organized, relying on community bonds and mutual generosity, rather than strict leadership.

When Skycity was officially founded, 724 & 571 were acclaimed as co-leaders, as a guiding hand between the two primary settlements.

During the First large meeting of Skycity, ministers were divided and jobs were dispersed between old and new players within the city.

Foreign Affairs

Skycity is an a isolated community, after the two primary Skybases united into one. Skycity has an open policy to outside Participants, as is typical of large skybase civilisations. Skycity has concerned itself solely with domestic affairs as of session 1, and has not yet established formal diplomatic links with any other civilisations.

Military

The "Military" Is officially commanded by Participant_463, leading a small force of guardsmen.

Culture

The Skycitizens, though a rudimentary civilisation, have showed a tendency towards pacifism, generosity, and an openness to wanderers.

Banner

Skycity has no Banner as of Session 1.

Notes:

Population is probably inaccurate due to the amount of people within Skycity, making it hard for Chroniclers to judge.
