Free City of SleepyTown

The Free City of SleepyTown is (as of session one) a small sky-base in a plains biome next to a small lake. Their name comes from the fact that they got a bed for all their members in session 1. Sleepytown is in World One.

History

Early in session one, a player known as "Shepherd" established a solitary skybase next to a lake after escaping the desert. During the next two days, two separate groups of players would arrive seeking aid and decide to settle here. The cramped skybase would slowly grow, and the group gathered sheep to make beds, being careful not to die until every person had a bed of their own. At the end of session one, the group would finally decide on the name SleepyTown for their nation, and the people within would be called Albanians. During session 2 a player named "Shima" was tasked to go recruit and guide lost souls at spawn so that they could come to Sleepytown and become productive citizens and benefit from fitful sleep. They also entered the Iron Age with the slow adoption of Iron armour and tools.

As of session 3 the Sleepytown has accepted migrants into their region and started founding sister states such as Riverhold.

Later in session four, the two states confederated into the OphelonOphelion League, which is a confederal union that coordinates trade and defence.

Economy

The Albanian economy is a mixed economy, with trade allowed internally, but ultimately the Commune's decisions take precedent. Jobs are primarily up to the citizens' choice, however, should a need arise or a job be too saturated, one is expected to fulfil or rescind that duty. If something is needed by someone, it would be gathered by others who could get it. The plans for resource collection were determined communally every night, with the priority of levelling up specialists so that the civilisation could progress technologically.

The main industries are sugarcane and wool, but with the recent level advancements in the Commune's blacksmith, "Vulki", and the main miner, "Knight", the production of iron-based items is increasing rapidly, with most of the town projected to be fully armoured by the end of the third session and hopefully starting to enter the diamond age.

Currently, with the builder expertise of Riverhold, a ground base is being constructed in exchange for access to Sleepytown's Healers.

Government

No official government exists as of session one. "Shepherd" is held in high regard, but power is equal among members, with matters of importance voted on.

Amusingly, there is a community complaints board that was recently installed, but it has thus far been ignored.

In Session 3 Shepherd was elevated to head of state, with leader of the assembly Shima and home secretary Vulki. They are tasked with coordinating the direction of the civilisation and making agreements with other civilisations. Under them class guild leaders run the day-to-day matters of state.

Foreign affairs

SleepyTown has begun negotiating trade deals with neighbouring civilisations to exchange their surplus beds for iron and leather. Sleepytown and Riverhold have also joined in a confederation known as the OphelonOphelion League, to share needs and help collective defence issues.

Riverhold is the first sister state founded under the guidance and protection of Sleepytown.

They have now made a confederation called the OphelonOphelion League to coordinate trade, plans and defense. With the main diplomats creating relations being Vulki and 420 "no nickname chosen". With Shima's diplomatic efforts being directed towards inviting new sister states into the OphelonOphelion League to expand the league's

Military

Currently, the small group is defended by a player known as "Balance".

Culture

There exists a ritual to end each session sleeping in a bed, waiting for the server to close. It is highly believed that citizens must have a nickname to facilitate community, with the Assembly adopting a non-binding resolution to promote this practice.

Banner

Banner is a dark blue field with a black gradient from top to bottom, symbolising the twilight sky. In the centre a white circle is placed, symbolising a moon.
