Fish Inn
A safe haven for weary travelers |
|
History
The Fish Inn was founded Session 1. Following tales of a civilization being founded in the "holy land", settlers headed for a jungle to the North of the desert. Though in the jungle they found only remnants of past struggles, and the people of the "holy land" never returned, the settlers chose to build a safe haven on the river.
The Fish Inn began as a sky base with a simple fishing hole. Early struggles for food and the constant dangers of mobs made for a slow start, including a nearly total collapse following a witch attack, but the founders persevered.
Following the crafting of the first beds, The Fish Inn began deploying suicide tactics to bring safety to the river. Through the brave sacrifice of the Expendables' many lives, the Inn began to expand. Unskilled newcomers were able to safely engage in more dangerous pursuits, gathering resources and fending off mobs, allowing others to begin building expertise.
As of session 2, The Fish Inn has begun efforts to expand across the river and begin establishing safe land.
Economy
The Fish Inn maintains a roughly even split of the most basic classes, farmer, blacksmith, and builder, and maintains a basic food supply through fishing. Food costs are kept low by death-resetting unskilled workers.
The nearby jungle has provided sufficient wood for early development, and basic mining operations have begun.
Government
The Fish Inn holds no formal government, with decisions primarily made via general group consensus. Though more senior members are occasionally referred to for guidance, the group generally is in agreement on what is best for the Inn.
Foreign affairs
The Fish Inn allows safe passage and refuge for travelers and those seeking a fresh start. Directions to known nearby civilizations are given to those seeking to explore further or settle elsewhere. A player was gifted a sheep by Cannabis Village, and have thus have friendly relations with them.
