History

Era 1: The March and the Holy Campfire (Session 1)

The foundation of Twogypt was an act of survivalist leadership that quickly evolved into a cult of personality.

The March from the Desert: A massive group of ~35 players gathered on a sky base near the desert spawn. Player 17, seeing the chaos, took control of the food supply by crafting a campfire. People described it as him "graciously sharing it with the starving masses."

Founding of a Nation: He then led this large group on a march, following rumors of a "promised land." They chose to settle in a savanna, and in recognition of his leadership, unanimously acclaimed him Pharaoh. The holy campfire became the central cultural artifact of their new civilization, Twogypt.

Early Diplomacy and Tension: Almost immediately, they discovered the neighboring civilization of Seven Boats just across the river. Tensions flared when Twogyptian citizens were caught snooping in Seven Boats' chests, but the Pharaoh's second-in-command quickly negotiated a peaceful resolution, establishing the river as a formal border.

Era 2: The Sugarcane Wars and Consolidation of Power (Sessions 2-5)

Twogypt's early history was defined by a series of conflicts known as the "Sugarcane Wars" or "the Seamen Wars" aimed at eliminating the regional threat of raiders.

The Axes Seamen Conflict: The first major threat was a group known as "The Axes Seamen," a small raiding party that was extorting sugarcane from smaller settlements. An attempt of extorting valuable gear from Twogypt by stealing sugarcane and selling it back to them was made, but this made the Pharaoh angry, and he declared war against The Seamen. They launched an attack on the Seamen's base, and in a decisive battle, completely wiped them out. The Axes Seamen were destroyed, cementing Twogypt's role as the world's primary military power.

The Second Seamen War: A new, unrelated group of raiders (the "2nd Gen Seamen") emerged and began attacking Twogypt's allies, including Seven Boats and Friendship Island. Twogypt again led the international response.

The Battle for 2gypt: The Seamen launched a direct assault on Twogypt's settlement. While the raiders managed to kill about half the defenders and steal blessed gapples, Twogypt's superior fortifications and the arrival of allies from Silvia allowed them to hold the line and repel the attack.

The Hunt for 333: Twogypt identified one of the key raiders, Player 333, and launched a massive manhunt. Their pursuit led them to Southern Beacon, where they engaged in tense negotiations to secure his surrender. This demonstrated their long reach and commitment to enforcing their brand of justice.

Era 3: The Hegemony of the Nile Alliance (Sessions 6-14)

Following their military victories, Twogypt transitioned from a regional power to the undisputed hegemony of World 2, solidifying their power through the Nile Alliance.

Formation of the Nile Alliance: Their shared struggle against the Seamen forged a powerful bond with the northern nation of Silvia. This informal military cooperation evolved into the Nile Alliance, a political bloc that dominated the world.

The World Tour and Late-Game Diplomacy: In the final sessions, with no major threats remaining, Twogypt hosted "The Great World Tour," (or its alternative name "The Rapture Tour") a peaceful expedition where they visited nearly every known civilization, documenting their findings on the wiki. After every base tour, Player 183 donated vast amounts of minerals to each civilization, most notably 4 out of the 6 diamond blocks Twogypt had in their reserves. This act showed the world the deep kindness of the people of Twogypt. Player vael7176 documented this tour, showcasing their builds and interactions.

The End of the Trial: Twogypt survived to the end of the trial as the most powerful and influential nation in their world, having successfully eliminated all major threats and established a stable political order under their leadership.

Economy

Later sessions:

The civilization had a focus on mining, and gathering high end resources such as iron, diamonds and obsidian. Twogypt was one of the only civilizations who had level 5 miners, resulting in their abundance of diamonds. Several caving expeditions took place to achieve these diamonds.

To help the librarian with leveling up, farmers made a large cow pit to harvest leather, resulting in a relative abundance of leather. This, however, was not the main focus of the economy.

Extended early history (session 1-2)

Session 1

During the first day, several disparate desert tribes were united by a river. By the first night, roughly thirty people were gathered on a sky base near spawn. There, one player had crafted a fireplace, and began handing out food; Player 17. Being blessed (had highest pickup priority), he controlled the food, and graciously shared it with the starving masses. When day came, he led us through the desert, following rumors of a promised land: the savanna with actual trees, holy sheep, and more animals. There the people survived of fish for three days, as we gathered our resources. On the third day, Player 17 was hailed as leader by a unanimous aye! Player 311 and other builders began building the monster pit, to remove mobs under the sky base. Word of other civilizations spread to Player 17, and planned to send messengers to the others, and form peaceful alliances.

Session 2

Our pharaoh, Player 17 was sleeping, so Player 248 became the new pharaoh (and blacksmith). Expansion of Twogypt continues, and later on Player 17 came back and became the pharaoh again. Mines developed, the area around the palace got lit up and farms got bigger.

A Major incident occurred, when a criminal player came into Twogypt, and knocked down Player 887, our only healer. Player 17 ordered some guardsmen to receive help from the healer of the neighboring tribe, Seven Boats. Tragically, the same criminal had already knocked down their healer. This heavily affected the Twogyptians. The guardsmen became more aware of suspicious individuals and a wanted poster was set up to identify criminals.
