History

Founded upon the abandoned fortress of Fungia, the First Schism left behind a handful of players that later formed The Levant. A resting post and eventual residence of passing refugees from other nations, The Levant was able to steadily grow and increase its borders and capacity against the horrors of the night.

Every nation must face decisions between alluring prospects and dangerous endeavors. The discovery of a small island brought the promise of a more stable place to call home. Before long, the find of two wandering travelers sparked a chance for a greater Levant.

Eager to leap into a new age, Levantus organized a mass exodus to 'Little Island'. Amist the trouble and tumble of such a large endeavor, a familiar force entered the fray, the leadership of Fungia.

As it was, foreign affairs had tugged on the roots of old Fungia, and with The Levant's populous, Fungia was in a position to secure its authority elsewhere. The distant alignments of many refugees were forced in competing directions. In such an usual position between this new development and a mass exodus, The Levant suffered many losses as migrants moved to align themselves more closely with the old leadership. The departure of these migrants to Fungia's Promised Land marked the Second Schism, from which The Levant struggled to recover.

With the massive losses to its population, the later failure of the exodus to Little Island should have marked the end of The Levant. But a land built by the hands of refugees could never truly be left alone.

Steady progress now marks the advances and struggles of the nation. What was once lost can always be built back better. Refugees continue to trickle in.

The road between civilizations is long and arduous, and every forgotten path leads to The Levant.
