Akratia is a nation in World 1 located southeast of the spawn point. Its capital is temporarily named ‘Promised Home’.

History

When the players appeared in the great desert, a group of 12 players organised themselves to make the journey south towards a more fertile land. The Long March, as it was later called, ended when the group, reduced to eight players, finally found greenery in this ocean of sand. Tired from their journey, they settled in a plain surrounded by jungle and savannah and named their new home ‘Promised Home’.

Faced with population difficulties due to respawn issues, the decision was made to launch expeditions to find lost souls and offer them a home and food.

These expeditions also revealed the existence of other civilisations to the west and north.

As the organisation of society faced the need to survive in a particularly hostile environment, quick and clear decisions had to be made to ensure the survival and unity of the group. Gradually, this need for survival and rapid organisation led to the establishment of a leader among the most influential players and gave rise to a form of meritocratic autocracy. The more citizens are involved and dedicated to the community, the more weight their voices will carry in decisions.

Out of humanism, but also out of pure pragmatism, the Akratians welcome anyone who wishes to join the community, as long as that person respects the other players and the organisation in place.

Shortly after settling in, the players who would later become the Akratians established a principle of ‘naming by appearance,’ which would later give rise to the tradition of ‘civilised names.’ For example, the player named ‘General’ has a skin of a commander from the First World War.
